Doesn't the music industry realize that they are more likely to sell more recordings if they let people hear it first? I don't like buying music unless I can listen to it first. This is why I post my music free and let people donate. If I don't receive a donation then, oh well. An artist can make just as much money from donations as with record sales. There will always be leachers. But there will also be those who donate. I don't have to give a portion of my earnings to the industry, so it all balances out. If you think about it, the world needs pirates. Pirates are more likely to buy music than non-pirates. The pirates are the ones who love music, and collect the CD's. You can't get the real thing from a download, like the album covers and inside art, lyrics, pictures, biography. You can get them from downloading but not in a complete package. Actually the collectors (Pirates) are stimulating the industry. So I say we should continue to share the songs, and open the internet more to file sharing. Doing this will allow people to download songs from little-known artists, helping to get the word out about them.
